FBC NURSING HOME MINISTRY at Burlington Health and Rehab
Matthew 25:40 And the King shall answer and say unto them, Verily I say unto you, Inasmuch as ye have done it unto one of the least of these my brethren, ye have done it unto me.
Galatians 6:2 Bear ye one another’s burdens, and so fulfil the law of Christ.
James 1:27 Pure religion and undefiled before God and the Father is this, To visit the fatherless and widows in their affliction, and to keep himself unspotted from the world.
We began holding services on the 2nd and 4th Sundays of each month (in approx. 2000), as a result of a man named Dave Pagani. Dave was a Nursing home chaplain (member of Bible Baptist Church in Barre, Vt), who traveled the whole State of Vermont going to local nursing homes. He set out to not only minister to these folks, but wanted to get local churches to take responsibility for their local Nursing Home.
We began serving with Dave at Burlington Health and Rehab on Pearl St in Burlington, VT and when Dave and his wife Norma moved to California to be a chaplain there, by God’s grace we have been able to continue ministering to the staff and patients at BH&R.
The goal of our Nursing Home Ministry is to glorify God by taking His Word and His love to Burlington Health and Rehab. The staff at BH&R provide extended care for the physical needs of their residents. It is our privilege to hold services and to provide spiritual care not only for those who reside there but also the wonderful staff employed by BH&R. We have had the privilege of seeing many dear folks accept Jesus Christ as their Lord and Saviour, and had the opportunity to get to know some great people who we will now get to see in heaven someday!
Many of our folks from FBC come regularly to be part of this great work.
