Prison Ministry

FBC Jail Ministry at Chittenden  Regional Corrections Facility in So Burlington, Vt

Matthew 25:36 Naked, and ye clothed me: I was sick, and ye visited me: I was in prison, and ye came unto me.

The mission of FBC Jail Ministry is a simple one, to share the transforming love and forgiveness of Jesus Christ, to tell folks the truth of salvation only He can provide, and to impact the hearts and lives of incarcerated folks and their families, to become not only Christians but loving and productive citizens of their communities.

Our service at CCRF was also planted by the efforts of another Christian who came to our church from Rock of Ages Prison fellowship (Danny Chamberlain). Dan came to hold a revival at CCRF (in early 2000), and after his weekend ministering there was done, he said, “here’s a jail, you guys are a church”, take over and serve here!  By the grace of God we have been holding services on the 1st and 3rd Saturdays of each month faithfully.

When we started, there were only men at CCRF. In approx. 2012 the men were all transferred to a Jail in St Albans, and CCRF became the Women’s jail in Vt.  As there are churches who go to St Albans Facility, we prayed and decided to continue a presence at CCRF ministering to the ladies.

Please pray for for not only those incarcerated, but for the guards, and all those in the criminal justice system. There are many false groups that go into the jail, so please pray as we only wish to preach the truth of the Bible, and our Lord Jesus Christ to these folks.

We have seen hundreds of people over the years and many have made professions of faith.

Many folks at FBC have participated over the years in this ministry.
